| Notes / History | Highly regarded South African batsman Arthur Dudley Nourse, often known simply as ‘Dudley’, played in several South African Test sides from 1935-1952. In the warm-up games before his debut tour against England Dudley impressed selectors by scoring three consecutive centuries, two of which were against Surrey. This photo was obtained from The Cricketers Public House when it was closed in 2010, and it was captured on one of the occasions that Nourse visited Mitcham Cricket Club. |
