This rather unusual fundraising strategy was designed to finance a new organ for St. Peter’s Church, Bishopsford Road in 1954. Notice the rolling pin and wooden spoon carried by the bride – for many years these were traditional wedding day accessories, symbolising good fortune and a happy home life. |
