Notes / History In addition to providing medical care, the Wilson was also a training hospital for those wishing to become a State Enrolled Nurse. The training period involved classroom instruction, on the job training in each of the wards, and 12 weeks of geriatric experience at the nearby Wandle Valley Hospital. After an 18 month training period, the pupils took a simple ward based exam designed to test their practical efficiency; if successful, they qualified for State Enrolment.
