| Notes / History | Mitcham can boast one of the oldest cricket grounds in the world. Described as a “Nursery of English Cricket”, Mitcham Cricket Club has nurtured generations of local, county, national and international players. Being ahead of its time, Mitcham Cricket Club has been quick to support new talent, regardless of age, background, or gender. The club pavilion was not build until 1904; prior to that, a number of tents were erected to provide shelter and hospitality for both players and spectators. |
