| Notes / History | Mitcham can boast one of the oldest cricket grounds in the world. Described as a “Nursery of English Cricket”, Mitcham Cricket Club has nurtured generations of local, county, national and international players. Being ahead of its time, Mitcham Cricket Club has been quick to support new talent, regardless of age, background, or gender. Some of the twentieth century fans seem more attentive than others; the gentleman seated in the centre of the bench appears to have dozed off. |
