| Notes / History | In this scene from the 1950s, you can just see one of the local groundsmen giving the wicket area some attention. By this stage car ownership was on the increase (as is evident from the number of cars parked in front of the Cricketers pub). This made the end of each innings somewhat more hazardous, as players now had to dodge through traffic in order to reach the pavilion. |
