|Notes / History
|Travelodge was one of the first major budget motel brands. It was launched in the UK in 1985. The motel in the picture was built on the back of the George Inn which is now a Harvester restaurant. The Inn is thought to have been established as early as the sixteenth century and, not surprisingly, its appearance has changed over the years. Like many of the local hostelries it also functioned as a coaching inn, providing a rest point and refreshments for these travelling to and from Epsom.
