| Notes / History | In the decades following the Second World War, the estate has undergone many changes. During the 1960s and ‘70s, extensions were added to homes originally constructed without separate bathrooms. Windows were also replaced and new properties were built in a more modern style. Following the abolition of the Greater London Council, London Borough of Merton assumed responsibility for the Morden section of the estate, offering tenants the “Right to Buy” their homes during the 1980s. Some properties are also now privately rented either from owners or through letting agencies. |
