|Notes / History||Avenue Road was constructed on fields originally known as
"The Roughs" .
The picture shows the road built, but un-developed as was practise for new estates.
Residents were obliged to adopt the roads to undertake the proper surfacing and upkeep, mainly at weekends, thus the temporary road surfacing was made up with sleepers or rolled Clinker, as shown.
