| Notes / History | Believed to be a Mrs Panell posting a letter at the pillar box in Phipps Bridge Road, beside the Pickle Ditch.   It had formerly been  at the entrance to Harland’s Paint Works office ( observation from a local resident in 1977 ) The photographer may be George Humphrey who lodged with Mrs Panell for many years, and who was a professional photographer on “The Chronicle” (?) daily paper   Mrs Panell had been a postwoman in WW1  |
