|Notes / History|| The new signal box at Eastfields level crossing. Mitcham & Tooting Advertiser 22-2-62 Front page
The signal box has been moved across the track as part of the scheme to improve the traffic flow.
The final stage will be to widen the crossing, now only able to cope with single lane traffic. The gates will be replaced with contentinental style barriers.
The remains of the Mizzens Brothers' nursery can be seen, picture centre, while Pain's Fireworks factory is just visible in the distance. Much of this area has now been redeveloped and used for housing.
