| Notes / History | Also known as Eastfields Level Crossing. The picture was taken from Tamworth Lane looking across to Eastfields Road with Grove Road crossing the centre of the picture. The signal box to the right controls the level crossing gates. The railway line is the old LBSCR, South London, Sutton and Peckham Line between Mitcham Junction and Streatham. You may just be able to spot the Wates sign, (above the car, picture centre). During bthe 1950s, the construction firm was responsible for much of the development work around Sandy Lane and Gorringe Park. |
