Celebrating the 75th anniversary of V E Day.

Merton Heritage Service is producing a range of activities and resources to help you to celebrate the 75th anniversary of V E Day from the comfort of your own home.

In the run up to 8 May 2020, staff and volunteers are preparing heritage trails, online displays, quizzes and reminiscence materials.

All the new resources will be available via the Merton Memories website - simply follow this link.

We will also be offering ration book recipes for you to try and offering access to historic wartime film footage with a soundtrack featuring the memories of local people.

Heritage staff are particularly keen for Merton residents of all ages to create a dove of peace, to hang in their windows as a simple act of celebration. Templates are available on the same webpage and we would like as many people to take part as possible. Those out on walks and lockdown exercise breaks - particularly local children - can then see how many doves they can spot in their local area.
