Notes / History | Members of the Morden ATC marching in the annual Remembrance Day parade near Morden Hall. The ATC originated from the Air Defence Cadet Corps, formed in 1938 by Air Commodore Chamier. The ADCC taught youngsters a variety of aviation skills and many volunteers subsequently joined the RAF. In 1941, George VI issued a Royal Warrant, and the ADCC was formally established as the Air Training Corps which enabled part time volunteers to receive air training. |
