|Notes / History||Flats for the elderly. The structure of society altered during the 1960's. People were more mobile, moving further afield in search of work and accommodation. The creation of large housing estates also lessened the sense of community and in some cases, elderly people were left feeling isolated and vulnerable.
Housing schemes such as this one were designed to solve the problem, providing cheap and comfortable accommodation, with organised activities and access to healthcare workers.
