Notes / History | A motley crew - members of Mitcham Cricket Club, 1980-95, posing at the rear of the Cricketers pub. The Club thrived during the latter stages of the nineteenth century, performing well in competition and attracting skilful players. Captain at this stage was T.P. Harvey, a member of an old Mitcham family. He chose not to turn professional but played for the Surrey XI several times. Other players of the day included Jim Boxall, H. Pillinger, J. Cafferay and A.F. Clarke. |
