Notes / History A "ghost train" made railway history when a group of travel enthusiasts turned back the clock 30 years by running a special trip over 60 miles of track in South London and Surrey.

The Southern Counties Touring Society organised the "South Londoner" tour which originated at Beckenham Junction and included West Croydon to Merton Park followed by a jaunt along the stub of the line to Merton Abbey, which had been closed to passenger traffic 30 years before.
