|Notes / History||This photograph shows the felling of an elm (or cedar) tree that was a Mitcham landmark at 359 London Road. It stood over 27metres (90feet) tall just beyond Cricket Green and was supposed to be over 300 years old. It was felled on Monday 31st October 1938 to make room for a new garage.
The site was later used by Kwik Fit and as of January 2014 is vacant.
