Notes / History | The cloth or silk was washed in the River Wandle. Having washed the cloth it was then laid out to dry along the banks of the river. After this the silk would have been dyed and then made ready to be printing. Morris & Co were at Merton for around 60 years. The company used many old and traditional methods. |
