Notes / History | This is the view from the kitchen door of Morden Hall Cottage (or was in 1951). Now in the care of the National Trust, this white timber-fronted house, next to the rose garden, was built during the mid-eighteenth century. After Gilliat Hatfeild’s death, his son Gilliat Edward inherited the estate. Unmarried and childless, he did not take up residence at Morden Hall but preferred instead to live in Morden Cottage, which was his home for the remainder of his life. |
