Notes / History | A float entered by Mitcham Chamber of Commerce during the coronation celebrations for Elizabeth II. Premises all along the route were decked with bunting, paper chains and Union flags, including Mitcham Library and Shirl Mussell's barber shop. The processions started at Three Kings Green where the judging of the floats took place. The procession then went through the streets of Mitcham, ending at Mitcham Stadium where various displays and entertainment took place. The Grand Finale was a firework display on Three Kings Green. |
