Joseph Hood Recreation Ground, Cannon Hill Lane on 1 May 1926.

A respected and philanthropic gentleman, Joseph was
Deputy Chairman of the
British and American Tobacco Company.

In addition to his Parliamentary roll, he also served as Mayor of Wimbledon. In 1921 he donated £11,000 to fund the creation of the recreation ground (later named in his honour).

He was knighted by King George V in 1922.
